Terms of service
Terms of Service
Welcome to Business of Making. These terms explain how our store works, what you’re getting when you buy from us, and how you can use it. By using this website or buying a product, you agree to these terms. They’re written to be as clear as possible, but if anything doesn’t make sense, please get in touch.
About us
Business of Making is based in Victoria, Australia. You can contact us at bec@businessofmaking.com.au.
Our products
All products in this store are digital downloads, including guides, templates and calculators. Nothing physical will be posted to you. After purchase, your files are delivered by email. If they don’t arrive within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folder before getting in touch.
Some products include a link to a Canva template. To use these, you’ll need your own Canva account. A free account works for most templates, but some elements may require Canva Pro. Your use of Canva is also subject to Canva’s own terms.
Our calculators are delivered as spreadsheet files and need spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel, to open and use.
Your licence to use our products
When you buy a product, you’re buying a licence to use it, not ownership of the content itself.
You can:
- Use the product for yourself and your own business
- Edit and customise templates for your own business
- Print copies of guides for your own personal use
You can’t:
- Share, forward, copy or upload the files or template links for anyone else to use
- Resell, give away or redistribute any product, whether edited or not
- Use our content in your own courses, guides, templates or products
- Claim any of our content as your own
If someone else would find a product helpful, we’d love you to point them to our store so they can get their own copy.
Education, not advice
Our products are educational and share general information based on real experience in business. They aren’t financial, legal, tax, accounting or insurance advice, and they don’t take your personal circumstances into account. Please speak to a qualified professional, such as an accountant, lawyer or insurance broker, before making decisions for your business. In Australia, the ATO has guidance on whether you’re running a hobby or a business.
Any results you get from our calculators depend on the figures you enter, so please double check your numbers.
Pricing and payment
All prices are in Australian dollars. We may change prices at any time, but changes won’t affect orders you’ve already placed. Payments are processed securely through Shopify, and we don’t store your card details.
Refunds
Please see our Refund Policy for how refunds work for digital products.
Intellectual property
All content on this website and in our products, including text, designs, graphics, templates and calculators, is owned by Business of Making and protected by copyright. Please don’t copy or reuse it without our written permission.
Links to other websites
Our website and products may include links to other businesses and websites, such as Canva or businesses we recommend. We’re not responsible for their content, products or services.
Our liability
We work hard to make sure our products are accurate and helpful, but we can’t guarantee any particular outcome for your business. To the extent allowed by law, we’re not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using our website or products. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy
Please see our Privacy Policy for how we collect and use your personal information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, and the terms in place when you made your purchase will apply to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
